2. Cancellation Policies
Room Oye supports multiple cancellation policies set by individual hosts. The policy applicable to your booking is displayed before you confirm.
Flexible Policy
- Full refund: Cancel up to 24 hours before check-in
- 50% refund: Cancel within 24 hours of check-in
- No refund: After check-in
Moderate Policy
- Full refund: Cancel up to 5 days before check-in
- 50% refund: Cancel within 5 days of check-in
- No refund: After check-in
Strict Policy
- Full refund: Cancel up to 7 days before check-in
- 50% refund: Cancel 7-14 days before check-in
- No refund: Cancel within 7 days of check-in
Non-Refundable
- No refund: No refunds for any cancellations
- Usually offered at a discounted rate
3. Service Fees
- Room Oye service fees are refundable if you cancel within the full refund period
- Service fees are non-refundable for partial refunds
- Payment processing fees may not be refundable
4. Host Cancellations
If a host cancels your booking:
- Full refund: You receive a complete refund including all fees
- Rebooking assistance: We help you find alternative accommodation
- Compensation: You may receive a coupon for future bookings
5. Refund Processing Time
- Credit/Debit Card: 5-10 business days
- PayPal: 3-5 business days
- Bank Transfer: 7-14 business days
- Wallet: Instant (if applicable)
Refunds are processed to the original payment method.
6. Extenuating Circumstances
Full refunds may be provided for:
- Serious illness or injury
- Death of guest or immediate family member
- Natural disasters
- Government-mandated travel restrictions
- Declared emergencies
Documentation required: Medical certificates, death certificates, government notices, etc.
7. Property Issues
If the property doesn't match the listing:
- Report within 24 hours of check-in
- Provide photo/video evidence
- Contact Room Oye support immediately
- We may offer:
- Full refund
- Partial refund
- Alternative accommodation
8. No-Shows
If you don't show up for your booking:
- No refund is provided
- The booking is considered complete
- Exceptions may apply for extenuating circumstances
9. Early Departure
If you leave before your checkout date:
- No refund for unused nights
- Full payment is still required
- Exceptions for extenuating circumstances
10. Modification Fees
- Changing dates may incur fees
- Subject to availability
- Price differences apply
- Some bookings cannot be modified
11. Disputes
If you disagree with a refund decision:
- Contact Room Oye support within 24 hours
- Provide all relevant documentation
- Our team will review within 3-5 business days
- Final decision will be communicated via email
12. Long-Term Bookings
For bookings over 28 days:
- First month is non-refundable after check-in
- 30-day notice required for cancellation
- Refund for unused months (minus one month)
13. Special Promotions
Bookings made with promotional codes or discounts:
- May have different cancellation terms
- Specific terms will be displayed at booking
- Promotional discounts may not be refundable
14. Force Majeure
Room Oye is not liable for refunds due to:
- Acts of God
- War or terrorism
- Pandemics (unless covered by extenuating circumstances)
- Government actions beyond our control
